Results from VizieR

Results from VizieR should look like this:

Question 13. Examine the results. How many stars are in the Gliese Catalog of Nearby Stars? What data does the catalog list for each star?

Now, you should copy the search results from your browser and paste them into a graphing program like Excel. From the Edit Menu in your browser, choose Select All, then choose Copy. It will probably take a few minutes to copy all the data.

Now open your graphing program and select "Paste" from the Edit menu. It will likely take several minutes to paste all the data. When the data is pasted, scroll down past the VizieR logo and the preliminary information to where the actual data is stored. Your screen should look something like this:

You are now ready to make an H-R diagram! Click Next to find out how.
